This page displays the images I used to create my first HaLRGB image (of the Crescent Nebula), and details most of the procedures I used.

This is my first light image with my Astronomik H-alpha CCD filter, attached to my ATK2HS black and white camera.

This is the LRGB image produced by my SC2.5 webcam with a Baadar IR/UV cut filter.

This image was created by using Iris to coregister the red, green, and blue channels from the above picture to match the H-alpha image at top.

I then combined them as an RGB.raw image, imported it into Photoshop, and used the H-alpa image on the top of the page as a luminance layer over top of it. I used multiple-luminance layering until I had the saturation I wanted, then used Neat Image to remove noise.

This is the nebula imaged with the ATK-2HS and my Astronomik IR Block filter.

Note the profusion of stars as compared to the images above! I'm considering adding this layer to the HaLRGB image above, but I suspect it will introduce too much noise.
